Guy writes custom bootloader in order to create a 3600 baud connection between an Apple //e and his PC, and then uses it to display tweets. Insane.

Hacking Mail.app with the Gmail star
I know, I know, it’s a nit, but I never did like that red flag in Mail.app. So, I grabbed a screenshot of the happy yellow star in Gmail, brought it into Photoshop to resize it to 16x16 from 14x14, removed the white background to make it transparent, and saved as a transparent TIFF (flagged.tiff). Then, shut down Mail, right-clicked on Mail.app, chose “Show Package Contents”, and drilled into Contents and then Resources. Drag-dropped the old flagged.tiff out for safe keeping, and dragged the new one in. OSX prompted me to authenticate, did that, restarted Mail, et voila there it is.
Just connected an old Wacom tablet to my EeePC 901, downloaded the driver, and I’m up and running! Not entirely sure *why*, but I like it.
Palm Pixi: Worthy of some serious technolust
Man oh man, suddenly I’m transported back a decade to the venerable Palm VII, subject of some serious technolust (and a subsequent purchase) at the time. I just returned a Palm Pre that I had purchased, in no small part due to the difficulty of getting at the keyboard (oh, and that dearth of applications, serious lack of Sprint coverage at the house and the office, and the fact that I already have an iPhone).
But that shape! That keyboard! And the name, which makes me feel all light on my feet, fairy dusty and Björklike! Man, I’ll have to give one of these a serious fondling when they show up at the local store.
I’ve got to set a moratorium on reading this kind of thing, lest I go crazy one day and buy a Pre.
Weird. I was never interested in one of these until the larger version with native PDF capabilities. Now I’m all, like, technolusty! Amazon.com: Kindle DX: Amazon’s 9.7” Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation): Electronics
why I love JungleDisk: ilana just uploaded a 3.68GB file without a hitch. that’s *gigabytes*, friends. now to download from hotel in mexico.
Just saw the chumby via an ad on Pandora. Takes web applets and displays them standalone - like in your kitchen or bedside. Want.
You know you’re having a good Sunday morning when it involves a 1TB SATA, Vice-Grips, canned air, rubber cement, and a collection of Torx drivers
just bought 2.5TB of storage. yum.
