The best part of living in Silicon Valley

So I was using a piece of desktop software just now, and it coughed up an error message.  No problem, right?  Just do a quick Google search, fix it, and move along.

But the almighty Google says…

“Your search did not match any documents.”

Wow, that’s kind of a showstopper.  A showstopper that harks back to the days of paper manuals, dial-up BBSes, and user groups at the local community center, where it would take two or three weeks to get an answer.

But the deliverable is due tomorrow, 10:00 am.

And then it dawns on me: I’m good friends with the guy that runs QA for the software. (And it takes him all of 6 minutes to get back to my email - thanks Mike!)
