Snow Leopard changes spacebar behavior in Apple Mail
Man oh man, this is a real drag. When reading a long email in Apple Mail, I had gotten into the habit of using the spacebar and shift+spacebar to quickly page up and down through the message. It was one key, super-convenient, and didn’t require scrubbing the crap out of that little nubbin on my MightyMouse.
But alas, in Snow Leopard, the behavior has - ahem - evolved. If you scroll down in your message to where you see an image, spacebar now activates QuickView instead of continuing to scroll. Et voila you’re screwed, because you have to move your hand off the home row to reach Fn+Down, or go for the nubbin.
Meh.
